**VERMICOMPOST SUPERVISOR**
**JOB DESCRIPTION**
**Introduction**
Since 2012 Tru Prime Pvt. Ltd. has operated Punjab’s largest 2000 head dairy farm, mostly HF, at Majara about 32kM from and 8 km from Ahmedgarh.
The company now seeks to monetise the value of cow manure through vermicomposting.
Current dung quantities are about 30MT / day which would convert into 21MT of premium vermicompost.
The venture will be significantly automated with mechanised turning, forced aeration and inbuilt sprinklers.
It is targeted that full dung utilisation will be achieved within 18 months.
The vermicomposting facility will be co-located on the same farm and will also process spent mushroom substrate (SMS) generated from a co-located mushroom farm.
The company will service both domestic and international markets, with exports dominating by year 3.
Company products will be both packaged / branded and bulk for institutional customers.

**duties and responsibilities**
- Supervise day to day vermicompost production activities, including:
- **Mixing Operations**: Supervise and manage the mixing of organic waste, bedding materials, and earthworms to initiate the composting process.
- **Collection & Harvesting**: Oversee the timely collection of mature vermicomposting and ensure proper segregation from worms and raw material.
- **Sun-Drying**: Ensure harvested compost is dried adequately to reduce moisture content for safe storage and transport.
- **Water Management**: Monitor and regulate moisture levels throughout the composting beds to ensure optimal conditions for worm activity.
- **Quality Control**: Maintain high standards of compost quality through routine checks and process improvements.
- Lead and manage laborers, assign daily tasks, and ensure safety and productivity.
- Record Keeping - maintain logs of inputs, processes, and output volumes.
- Equipment Maintenance - ensure cleanliness and maintenance of composting equipment and tools.
- Monitor worm health and environmental conditions (temperature, moisture, pH)
- Maintain hygiene and biosecurity measures in the production area
- Keep detailed records of input materials, output quantity, and operational metrics
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement improvements for efficiency and sustainability
**Qualifications and Skills**
- Prior experience in vermicomposting, organic farming, or similar agricultural practices (preferred).
- Ability to lead a team and manage day-to-day operations.
- Strong understanding of moisture and organic matter management.
- Physically fit and able to work in outdoor conditions.
- Basic knowledge of record-keeping and process documentation.
- Graduation diploma (B.Sc Agriculture) or equivalent; agricultural training is a plus
- 3 - 5 year’s experience in organic farming or composting operations
- Familiarity with vermicomposting systems, such as pit, bin, window methods.
