Speech Therapist

Here's a general roadmap to become a speech therapist:

- **Bachelor's Degree**: Earn a bachelor's degree in communication sciences and disorders, speech-language pathology, linguistics, or a related field. During your undergraduate studies, you'll likely take courses in language development, phonetics, anatomy, and physiology.
- **Graduate Education**: Pursue a master's degree in speech-language pathology from an accredited program. This typically takes around two years of full-time study. In this program, you'll receive advanced training in speech and language disorders, diagnostics, treatment techniques, and clinical practicum experiences.
- **Clinical Experience**: Complete supervised clinical practicum hours as part of your graduate program. These experiences provide hands-on training working with clients with speech and language disorders under the supervision of licensed professionals.
- **Licensure/Certification**: After completing your education, you'll need to obtain licensure or certification to practice as a speech-language pathologist. Requirements vary by country or state, but typically involve passing a national exam (such as the Praxis exam in the United States) and completing a certain number of supervised clinical hours.
