GFC Financial Accounting (FA) is a sub-function of the overall Finance function which is responsible to provide outstanding Financial Control support in the areas of Period End Close, Accounting control & assurance and Site Reporting (GRCA reporting/Regulatory Reporting, MI and manual returns). FA is a very important function under the overall umbrella of Financial control. FA ensures that there are adequate controls / checks on the sourcing, preparation and reporting of all outputs to be produced by the FR team.

**The Opportunity**:
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with positive attitude and strong desire to learn, with a proven ability to thrive successfully in a fast paced multi-task oriented environment.

This position will play a crucial role in financial reporting and other statutory and regulatory filings.

**What you’ll do**:
The end to end process will include:

- Managing monthly and quarterly IFRS reporting/FINREP reporting/CE reporting/ Bank of England reporting/Regulatory Reporting, MI and manual returns
- Managing month end close accounting events such as manual journals, which are key to the ledger close, provide robust accounting and business insight into TB analysis, and book closure
- Balance Sheet Reconciliation and Substantiation

Requirements

**What you will need to succeed in the role**:

- Cleared 2 group of CA with article ship training.
- Prior experience in Accounting & Reporting profiles is recommendatory and exposure in month end close will be preferred
- Good working knowledge of month end closure preferably in the Banking Sector
- Excellent communication skills, including experience of explaining complex technical matters simply
- Strong Excel skills to interpret high data volume and facilitate automation
