**Job Title**:Intellectual Property (IP) Controller

**Location**: Yelahanka New Town, Bengaluru
**Department**: R&D / Legal / Innovation Management

**Job Summary**

We are seeking an experienced and proactive **IP Controller** to oversee and manage the company’s intellectual property portfolio, with a focus on safeguarding innovations emerging from our R&D activities. The IP Controller will work closely with scientists, engineers, and legal teams to identify, protect, and strategically manage patents, copyrights, trade secrets, and trademarks in line with business and research goals.

**Key Responsibilities**
- **IP Portfolio Management**:
Maintain and expand the company’s IP portfolio, ensuring timely filings, renewals, and protection of patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
- **Invention Disclosure & Assessment**:
Implement and manage the invention disclosure process, evaluate patentability, and support decision-making for IP protection.
- **Liaison with R&D Teams**:
Work closely with researchers to understand innovations and identify opportunities for IP protection early in the R&D lifecycle.
- **Patent Drafting & Filing Coordination**:

- **IP Strategy & Risk Management**:
Develop and execute IP strategies aligned with business objectives. Perform IP risk assessments and freedom-to-operate (FTO) analyses.
- **Compliance & Documentation**:
Ensure compliance with DSIR and other regulatory requirements concerning R&D-related IP. Maintain records for audits and certifications.
- **IP Licensing & Agreements**:
Support licensing negotiations and draft/review IP clauses in research collaboration agreements, NDAs, MoUs, etc.
- **Training & Awareness**:
Conduct IP awareness sessions for technical teams to foster a culture of innovation and protection.

**Required Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science, Engineering, or Law (preferably with a specialization in Intellectual Property Law or Technology Management)
- 1+ years of experience in IP management, preferably in an R&D-driven or tech-intensive organization
- Familiarity with Indian and international patent laws (USPTO, EPO, PCT systems)
- Experience in handling patent databases, IPMS tools, and patent analytics

**Desired Attributes**
- Registered Patent Agent (India or equivalent) - preferred
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
- Attention to detail with a proactive mindset
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a dynamic R&D environment

Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹500,000.00 per year
