**Job Summary**
A GNM Staff Nurse at a Mother and Child Care hospital provides high-quality nursing care to mothers, newborns, and children. They ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of patients through professional and compassionate healthcare services.
**Key Responsibilities**
- **Patient Care**:
- Assist in the care and monitoring of pregnant women during antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal periods.
- Provide neonatal and pediatric care, including feeding, monitoring, and managing vital signs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- **Delivery and Post-Delivery Assistance**:
- Assist in normal and complicated deliveries under the supervision of a doctor or midwife.
- Support mothers in initiating breastfeeding and educate them on newborn care.
- **Hygiene and Safety**:
- Maintain aseptic techniques and follow infection control protocols.
- Ensure cleanliness of the maternity ward, NICU, and pediatric areas.
- Sterilize and prepare equipment for procedures.
- **Health Education and Counseling**:
- Provide health education to mothers on postpartum care, breastfeeding, nutrition, and child immunization.
- Offer emotional support to families dealing with complications or loss.
- **Emergency Care**:
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies, such as complications during childbirth or neonatal distress.
- Administer first aid and stabilize patients as needed.
- **Team Collaboration**:
- Collaborate with doctors, other nurses, and healthcare professionals to deliver holistic patient care.
- Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and quality improvement initiatives.
