**Role Purpose**

Acting as a specialist within the assigned commodity to assess potential new suppliers, develop existing suppliers and lead CI/VAVE activities within the Commodity. Ensure GKN Automotive Standards are being followed and that all supplied products are within agreed specifications. Collaborating with suppliers, internal SQ colleagues, commodity leaders, plant SQ team and other cross functional members at local, regional and global level.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Manage supplier and internal KPIs to achieve targets including PPB/PPM, number of complaints and concerns, time to close issues, quality costs recovery.
- Carry out on-site and virtual supplier validation audits, such as VDA 6.3, APQP, and PPAP approvals.
- Establish strong operational relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Support supplier run at rate planning, preparation, and on-site execution.
- Work with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing) team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements.
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders on VAVE, lean, agile and other improvement opportunities and projects.
- Manage complaint management and problem-solving using PDCA/A3/8D/FTA and audit verification to ensure r oot cause analysis and corrective actions implemented and read across.
- Support and drive supplier new product launch project / risk management to deliver according to key milestone requirements and quality standards.
- Lead and participate in change management and lessons learned transfer and deployment.
- Master data maintenance for suppliers assigned in Ivlaua, DPS and other systems.

**Essential Qualifications & Experience**

Engineering education preferred (Mechanical, Metallurgical, Production)
Effective written and verbal communication skills (Business level English)
Formal Problem Solving skills (5WHYs, 8D, fishbone, PPS, etc)
Experience with heat treatment, steel and tubing manufacturing process. Experience with core quality tools, including SPC, APQP, and PPAP
Project management, agile, lean production experience and skills preferred
Trained / certified in IATF 16949 and VDA 6.3 preferred and demonstrated competence in auditing
