**Job Summary**

The MEP BIM Coordinator cum Modeller is responsible for coordinating, developing, and managing the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) designs in BIM environments (Revit, Navisworks, or Tekla). The role ensures accurate modelling, clash detection, coordination between disciplines, and compliance with project requirements, facilitating smooth project execution.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and model detailed MEP systems using software like Revit MEP, AutoCAD MEP, or Tekla.
- Perform clash detection and resolution using tools like Navisworks to ensure coordinated designs between MEP, structural, and architectural disciplines.
- Coordinate with project managers, design engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the integration of MEP systems within the overall building design.
- Interpret design drawings, specifications, and project requirements to accurately model MEP systems in the BIM environment.
- Maintain and update 3D models according to project revisions and construction progress.
- Ensure all MEP models follow project standards, codes, and client requirements.
- Review subcontractor drawings and models for compliance with the project design intent.
- Provide technical support during construction, including answering RFIs (Requests for Information) and preparing as-built models.
- Conduct regular coordination meetings and model reviews to resolve issues early in the design/construction process.
- Manage the MEP data library and ensure proper documentation of model changes.
- Prepare accurate drawings and reports from the BIM model as required for construction or tender purposes.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience in MEP coordination and modelling for construction projects.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with BIM tools:
▪ Revit MEP
▪ AutoCAD MEP
▪ Navisworks
▪ Tekla
- Good understanding of MEP systems (HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, Electrical Systems).
- Strong knowledge of building codes and standards Australian & Newzealand (local and international).
- Excellent problem-solving and coordination skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience with clash detection and conflict resolution processes.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.

**Preferred Experience**
- Experience in large-scale commercial, prefab modular or industrial construction projects.
- Knowledge of integrated project delivery (IPD) and design-build processes.
- Experience in using other software tools such as BIM 360, AutoCAD, and MS Project.
- Exposure to sustainability requirements and green building certifications.

**Reporting To**
- Sr. Project Manager / Design Manager

**Work Location**

Typically based in office with periodic site visits for coordination and supervision.
