**Key Responsibilities and Duties**:

- **Patient Assessment**:EMTs assess patients' conditions, vital signs, and injuries to determine the nature and severity of the emergency.
- **Basic Life Support**:They provide essential medical care, including CPR, airway management, wound care, and splinting, using the tools and resources available in the ambulance.
- **Patient Transport**:EMTs safely transport patients to the hospital or other medical facilities, monitoring their condition during transit.
- **Communication**:They communicate effectively with patients, family members, and other healthcare professionals, relaying crucial information about the patient's condition.
- **Documentation**:EMTs meticulously document their assessments, interventions, and patient care, ensuring accurate and complete records.
- **Equipment Maintenance**:EMTs ensure that the ambulance and its equipment are in good working order and properly stocked.
- **Scene Safety**:EMTs prioritize patient and personal safety at the scene of an emergency, controlling crowds and protecting valuables.
- **Adherence to protocols**:EMTs follow established medical protocols and guidelines when providing care.
- **Infection Control**:EMTs are trained in infection control procedures to prevent the spread of diseases.
- **Emotional support**:EMTs provide emotional support to patients and their families during stressful situations.
