**Department**: Computer Applications (BCA, MCA, B.Sc Computer Science, BE)

**Position Overview**

**Key Responsibilities**
- **Academic Leadership**:

- Lead the design, delivery, and assessment of high-quality academic programs in **BCA, MCA, B.Sc Computer Science**, and **BE**.
- Ensure that curricula are continuously updated to reflect emerging trends in the technology and computer science fields.
- Oversee faculty development, including recruitment, evaluation, and mentorship of academic staff.
- Ensure that learning outcomes meet industry standards and maintain the employability of graduates.
- **Administration and Operations**:

- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Computer Applications department, including faculty assignments, scheduling, and departmental resources.
- Lead the development and implementation of new programs such as **B.Sc Computer Science** and **BE**, ensuring compliance with institutional and external regulatory bodies.
- Coordinate with the Principal and Director for affiliation processes with universities and regulatory agencies.
- Prepare and manage the department’s budget, including resource allocation for laboratories, software, and infrastructure.
- **Strategic Development**:

- Develop long-term goals for the Computer Applications department, ensuring alignment with the broader mission and vision of HIMS.
- Lead collaborations with industry partners, focusing on **guest lectures, industrial visits, internships, placements, and curriculum design**.
- Ensure that the department keeps pace with technological advancements, fostering innovation in teaching, research, and industry engagement.
- **Quality Assurance and Compliance**:

- Ensure all academic programs meet internal quality standards and external regulatory requirements, including those set by **AICTE** and **Bangalore University**.
- Ensure timely completion of all academic audits and accreditation processes.
- Work with the Principal and Director to manage the affiliation process, ensuring program recognition from relevant educational bodies.
- **Faculty and Student Engagement**:

- Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement among faculty members, encouraging research, professional development, and faculty-student engagement.
- Drive student success initiatives, including academic advising, counseling, and mentorship.
- Monitor and support student performance to ensure strong outcomes, retention, and graduation rates.
- Actively engage with students to build a positive and inclusive academic environment.
- **Research and Innovation**:

- Promote and support research initiatives within the department, encouraging faculty and students to engage in cutting-edge technology projects.
- Facilitate collaborations with other departments and external institutions to foster interdisciplinary research.
- Organize workshops, conferences, and seminars that contribute to the academic and professional growth of the Computer Applications department.
- **Stakeholder Collaboration**:

- Collaborate with external industry partners for **internships, placements**, and curriculum updates.
- Represent the department in meetings with senior management, advisory boards, and industry representatives.
- Work closely with the **Principal and Director** to ensure departmental goals align with institutional objectives.

**Qualifications**
- **Education**:

- Ph.D. or Master’s degree in **Computer Science, Information Technology**, or a related field.
- **Experience**:

- Minimum of **10 years of experience** in academia, with at least **5 years** in a leadership role such as **Dean, Associate Dean, or Head of Department**.
- Experience in managing both undergraduate and postgraduate computer science programs.
- Familiarity with academic regulations, accreditation processes, and industry collaboration.
- **Skills**:

- Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to inspire faculty and staff.
- Excellent organizational, budgeting, and project management skills.
- Proven ability to develop strong industry relationships for academic collaborations and placements.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, faculty, industry, and institutional leadership.
