Introduction:
The purpose of this role is to provide analytical insights on IFRS9 compliant impairment results for Barclays International Wholesale Portfolios i.e. Corporate and Investment Bank.

What will you be doing?

As part of this role the colleague will be required to:

- Generate IFRS9 compliant impairment actuals for Wholesale Portfolios directly impacting Group P&L
- Provide analytical explains of MoM Impairment Drivers, including - Macro Economic Scenarios, Portfolio Movements, Sectoral Stress, New Business, Single Name Drivers etc.
- Support the IFRS9 suite of wholesale impairment models (PD, EAD and LGD), working closely with the Model Owner/QA function to ensure the models are accurately reflecting credit risk that would emerge in a given economic and business scenario
- Operate under a robust governance framework to ensure Financial Controller/Reporting Teams accurately book P&L provisions and provide appropriate quarterly disclosures for Investor Relations
- Evidence compliance of stringent Controls/Governance to our Audit Teams - External (KPMG) and Internal (BIA/SOX)
- Coordinate with Risk Reporting/IT Teams to ensure that monthly modelled outputs are accurate and any input data deficiencies are remediated/flagged as required.
- Work alongside a team of analysts including those within “virtual” teams.
- Ensure team produces outputs on a regular and timely basis, as agreed with stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to automate activities to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Regular interaction with stakeholders across multiple teams including Risk and Finance to ensure the results produced by the team and self are well understood.

What we’re looking for:

- Analytical skills: problem structuring, hypothesis testing via data analysis
- Data management/analysis skills, with experience in usage of widely known analytical tools like Excel, SAS, SQL or Python
- Team working and stakeholder management across all levels
- Clear and concise communication to present results of analysis up to level of MD in the organization
- Project management skills to ensure delivery across multitude of tasks, by enabling pragmatic prioritization
