**Education**:
The e**xecutive Accountant** is responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management and reporting within the company. This role involves maintaining financial records, preparing financial statements, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The Executive Accountant will work closely with senior management to provide accurate financial insights and contribute to effective decision-making.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Financial Reporting and Documentation**:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure compliance with all accounting principles (GAAP, IFRS, etc.) and local tax regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate financial records for all transactions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
**Accounts Payable and Receivable**:
- Oversee the processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure accurate and timely payments and collections.
- Reconcile discrepancies in accounts, follow up on overdue invoices, and work with suppliers and clients to resolve issues.
- Monitor the aging reports and ensure timely collection of payments from customers.
**Budgeting and Forecasting**:
- Assist in the preparation and management of budgets, ensuring that all departments comply with financial guidelines.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and track the company’s financial performance against the budget.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to improve cost efficiency and profitability.
**Taxation and Compliance**:
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns (corporate tax, VAT, payroll tax, etc.).
- Assist in preparing tax filings and maintaining compliance with relevant tax regulations.
- Stay updated with tax laws and other regulatory requirements to ensure the company complies with them.
- **Payroll Management**:
- Oversee payroll processing, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time.
- Ensure compliance with tax deductions, employee benefits, and statutory contributions.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and resolve payroll discrepancies.
**General Ledger and Journal Entries**:
- Maintain the general ledger by recording and reconciling journal entries, ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately reflected.
- Assist in month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Post regular adjustments to the ledger (accruals, depreciation, provisions, etc.).
**Internal Controls and Auditing**:
- Ensure the company adheres to strong internal controls to prevent fraud and financial mismanagement.
- Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary financial documentation and explanations.
- Maintain an audit trail for financial transactions and ensure transparency in financial records.
**Financial Analysis and Reporting**:
- Provide financial analysis and insights to senior management to assist in decision-making.
- Conduct variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improving financial performance.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial reports as needed for management or external stakeholders.
**Cash and Bank Management**:
- Monitor cash flow and manage company funds to ensure liquidity and operational needs are met.
- Reconcile bank statements with internal records, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues promptly.
- Maintain and monitor petty cash accounts, ensuring proper documentation and control.
**Financial Systems and Software Management**:
- Oversee the use of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics) to ensure accurate financial data.
- Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to accounting systems to streamline financial processes and enhance reporting accuracy.
**Team Collaboration and Support**:
- Work closely with other departments (Sales, HR, Operations) to understand their financial needs and provide support.
- Assist in training junior accounting staff or other team members in financial processes and best practices.
- Collaborate with senior management to help create financial strategies that align with company goals.
**Required Skills and Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
**Experience**:
- 1-2 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with a strong understanding of financial management and reporting.
- Experience using accounting software (e.g., Zoho Books, Tally, SAP, etc.) is preferred.
**Technical Skills**:
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel for financial modelling and reporting).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and collaborating with various stakeholders.
- Ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial colleagues.
