**PURPOSE (why does the position exist, WITH what objectives and WITHIN what limits)**
This position is meant to serve the purpose of being the front line of the Process Engineering activities to ensure that Process Engineering and design work is done with rigour and made error free.

**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**

**Education**:

Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering (Minimum),Masters degree preferable

**Relevant Experience**:

4+ years depending on type of experience

**Business Understanding**:

Moderate level of understanding. Familiarity with fundamental cost based calculations.

Process development and Basic Engineering
Create and develop basic engineering package content like PID's MEB's PFD's.
Analyse and examine results from R and D to ensure data sufficiency
Recommend special equipment and changes to the process to improve the process
Perform sizing estimates and calculations using simulation tools
Perform safety calculations for the plant relief devices
Analyse plant data to establish operating regime
Use this data to develop operating wndows for process scale up.
Work with R and D during process optimisation and scale up for process development

Detailed engineering
Perform basic checks on detailed engineering content to ensure that Basic engineering integrity has been maintained
Troubleshoot and debug design issues at detailed Engineering stage
Provide assistance to commissioning teams during final plant start-up for troubleshooting and debugging.

Simulation and modelling
Use simulation tools like Aspen and CFD extensively for basic and detailed design caclulations
Work with vendors and software services providers to develop special simulation models
