- **Assess Complications**: Evaluate the presence of related conditions like **diabetic retinopathy**, **neuropathy**, **nephropathy**, and **cardiovascular disease**.
**2. Develop Personalized Treatment Plans**
- **Medication Management**: Prescribe medications such as **insulin**, **oral hypoglycemic agents**, or **GLP-1 agonists** to control blood glucose levels and manage symptoms. Adjust medication types and dosages based on the patient's condition and response.
- **Insulin Therapy**: For Type 1 and some Type 2 diabetes patients, manage insulin therapy, including adjusting doses, teaching insulin administration, and monitoring for side effects.
