**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Typesetting and Layout**: Prepare and format engineering textbooks using DTP software such as Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, and Microsoft Word. Ensure consistent layout, typography, and adherence to style guides.
- **Text Formatting**: Convert manuscript files into polished, print-ready layouts. This includes managing headings, subheadings, tables, figures, and equations with accuracy.
- **Graphics Integration**: Incorporate and optimize images, diagrams, and illustrations relevant to engineering topics. Ensure that all graphics are high-quality and appropriately placed within the text.
- **Proofreading and Quality Assurance**: Review and proofread typeset materials for errors, consistency, and formatting issues. Collaborate with authors and editors to make necessary revisions.
- **File Management**: Maintain organized files and manage version control throughout the publishing process. Ensure that all files are properly archived and backed up.
- **Collaboration**: Work closely with authors, editors, and designers to meet project deadlines and address any issues related to the layout or formatting of the text.
- **Technical Support**: Address any technical issues related to DTP software or file formats. Stay updated with the latest DTP tools and techniques to improve efficiency and output quality.
- **Skills**:

- Strong understanding of technical terminology and concepts related to engineering.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
- **Knowledge**: Familiarity with industry standards for textbook publishing, including formatting styles, layout conventions, and digital file requirements.
