**Key Responsibilities of a Car Mechanic**:

- **Vehicle Inspection**:

- Conducting thorough inspections of vehicles to identify issues with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Using diagnostic tools to detect faults in engines, brakes, transmission systems, and other parts of the vehicle.
- **Maintenance and Repairs**:

- Performing routine maintenance services like oil changes, brake inspections, tire rotations, and fluid level checks.
- Repairing or replacing faulty components such as engines, transmissions, alternators, and exhaust systems.
- **Troubleshooting**:

- Diagnosing and troubleshooting complex mechanical issues by using specialized equipment and tools.
- Investigating vehicle performance problems and recommending solutions to improve functionality and safety.
- **Engine and Transmission Work**:

- Overhauling and repairing engines and transmissions to restore optimal performance, reassembles and adjusts the appropriate parts of the entire system.
- Testing repaired systems to ensure functionality before returning vehicles to customers.
- **Electrical Systems**:

- Diagnosing and repairing electrical issues in vehicles, including wiring, fuses, and battery systems.
- Ensuring proper operation of lights, power systems, and electronic components.
- **Customer Interaction**:

- Communicating with customers to discuss vehicle issues, explain repair work needed, and provide cost estimates.
- Offering advice on vehicle care and preventive maintenance to extend the life of the vehicle.
- **Parts Replacement**:

- Ordering and replacing worn-out or damaged parts with high-quality replacements.
- Ensuring that all parts are installed properly and safely.
- **Documentation**:

- Keeping detailed records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance performed on vehicles.
- Updating service logs and providing written reports to customers when necessary.
- **Adherence to Safety Standards**:

- Ensuring all repairs and maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Using protective gear and following protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- **Continuous Learning**:
Staying up-to-date with the latest automotive technology and repair techniques.

**Value add skills-**

**a.**Should be able to do welding of cars and ensure rust/corrosion issues are addressed, mainly underside of the car.

b. Should be able to use argon gas for heating up sized components for removal.
