The Gold Loan Appraiser is responsible for evaluating the purity and weight of gold ornaments submitted for loans. The role ensures accurate appraisal, compliance with company policies, and risk assessment to minimize fraud.

Key Responsibilities:
Gold Valuation & Appraisal:
Assess the purity, weight, and authenticity of gold ornaments using standard testing techniques.

Determine the loan amount based on the gold’s value, as per company policies and market rates.

Ensure proper handling, tagging, and storage of pledged gold articles.

Loan Processing & Documentation:
Verify customer identity and adherence to KYC (Know Your Customer) norms.

Maintain records of gold loans, appraisals, and repayment schedules.

Risk Assessment & Compliance:
Follow security protocols to prevent fraud and misrepresentation in gold appraisal.

Adhere to RBI guidelines and internal compliance policies regarding gold loan disbursement.

Report any discrepancies or suspicious transactions to the Branch Manager.

Customer Service & Relationship Management:
Explain loan terms, repayment schedules, and interest rates to customers.

Handle customer queries and concerns regarding gold loans.

Ensure customer satisfaction by maintaining transparency and professionalism.

Key Skills & Competencies:
Expertise in gold appraisal techniques (acid test, touchstone, XRF analysis).

Knowledge of gold market trends and loan valuation methods.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in assessment.

Basic computer skills for loan processing and record-keeping.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum 3 years of experience in gold loan appraisal, banking, or the financial sector.

Certification in gold appraisal (preferred).

Graduate degree in any discipline (preferred but not mandatory).
