Position Purpose & Summary The Sr Back End Software Engineer will work with development teams at Cargill to build digital solutions for a variety of Cargill#s customers and businesses. In this role, you will work with your team to build testable, rel iable, scalable and secure software products. Principal Accountabilities # Be creative, be collaborative, be interested, be driven # Write well designed, testable, efficient code # Integrate software components into a fully functional software system # Participate in a dynamic development environment where solutions evolve daily as customer demands emerge over time. # Implement modern engineering practices to ensure product quality (e.g., test automation, CI CD practices), where appropriate. # P articipate in identification of solution options to meet customer and technical requirements # Provide hands-on designs, prototypes, and implementations incorporating software engineering best practices, tools and monitoring according to industry bes t practices. # Regularly interface with architects, analysts, process designers, business SMEs, and users to understand and evaluate business requirements. # Where appropriate, be an advocate for sound decision making, in the spirit of empowering you r colleagues and team to pursue the best technology choices possible given the constraints we ask you to operate in. Minimum Required Qualifications # Bachelor#s degree in a related field or equivalent experience. # 5 years experience in the fie ld o f software development # Experience developing with Python with Flask framework # Knowledge in databases # PostGres, NoSQL, etc # Knowledge of public cloud services (AWS, preferably) and API s (REST, GraphQL) # Varying depths of experience in a v ari ety of programming languages, preferably open source languages # Experience with Continuous Integration & Delivery practices (Jenkins, Drone, Vela, Docker, etc.) # Experience in an agile environment # Ability to travel up to 10 Preferred Qualifi cati ons # Undergraduate or masters in computer science or related field # Experience with cloud architecture technologies such as: queues, microservices, object storage, etc. # Integration with Identify Management services like Okta and Azure. # Exp..
