Position ML7 - SW Cyber Security

Reports To Embedded Software Lead

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables - Development of security requirements for existing and future gateway modules.
- Development of security requirements for existing and future vehicle access & starting systems.
- Design and development of security requirements necessary to prevent In-Vehicle threats.
- Coordinate security requirement development with other cross-discipline activities.
- Assess, analyse, and create gateway policy controls based on vehicle remote services and local vehicle device-to-device communications.
- Execute and analyse software code scans.
- Support external suppliers to implement necessary security elements.
- Support the identification and resolution of product security defects.
- Lead design reviews with suppliers and/or third parties to assess the security posture of responsible designs.
- Interface with internal and external stakeholders to define and manage specialized security testing.
- Remain knowledgeable of relevant trends, technologies, and best practices for securing vehicle critical information.
- Manage multiple projects with broad scope and high degree of difficulty.
- Support evaluation and recommendation of new security technologies, processes and methodologies.
- Support continuous evaluation of security threats to drive changes that will increase the security of the Gateway module.
- Support security incident investigations.

Experience (years) 8 to 12 years

Embedded Software

Qualification Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems or equivalent.

Competencies 1) Understanding of functional safety (ISO26262) and Security Mechanism

2) Hands on in C Programming and Debugging skills

3) Knowledge on SW Development Life Cycle, Agile, Waterfall methods

5) Target driven, Good analytical skills, Understanding of design practices and ational/international standards.

6) Should guide and mentor team members

- Working experience of practices, designs and technologies used to secure embedded systems.
- Working knowledge of embedded operating systems.

- Knowledge of major automotive subsystems.
- Knowledge of common automotive communication protocols. (e.g., CAN, LIN, FlexRay, MOST, and Ethernet)
- Knowledge of aspects of design and development of automotive embedded systems.
- Ability to make decisions and recommendations while taking into account appropriate trade-offs between conflicting objectives.
- Ability to handle ambiguity and make decisions and recommendations with limited data.
- Strong analytical/problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse/cross-functional teams.
- Effective communicator with strong oral and written presentation skills
