LEPRA Society is an organisation working for people affected by Leprosy, lymphatic filariasis, TB, HIV/AIDS & other NTDs, Eye Care and governed by a board comprising of distinguished individuals from across India.

LEPRA Society-BPHRC is a DSIR-SIRO recognized public health and research center with a specialized facility for services and research in leprosy, TB, and LF. The center has a laboratory research division with state-of-the-art facility for mycobacteriology laboratory including culture, molecular diagnostics etc. The center is recognized by MoHFW, GoI as referral facility for antimicrobial resistance in TB and leprosy and works closely with the field programmes across LEPRA’s operational states in India. The laboratory research division conducts applied and operational research of multidisciplinary nature in the identified thematic areas of strategic importance, such as innovative diagnostics, pathogenesis, antimicrobial resistance in collaboration with universities, research institutes and other NGOs conducting

Brief about Project:
The project aims to investigate the link between leprosy, environmental presence of Mycobacterium leprae and risk practices concerned with Water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) and handling of livestock in the context of One Health by active involvement of the leprosy affected self-help groups from India. The project is funded by the Leprosy Research Initiative.

**The position is for immediate employment and a project tenure based -36 months**

***Location: LEPRA society-BPHRC, Cherlapally ,Hyderabad**

***What you would do**
- Assist PI in development of all study-related protocols and documents.
- Conducting literature reviews and developing questionnaires.
- Overseeing Study sites
- Andhra Pradesh and Odisha on a regular onsite visits and continuous coordination with the research and field teams.
- Monitoring study participant recruitment and follow-ups
- Coordinate and organize meetings with the collaborating institutes.
- Managing data generated from the project.
- Coordinating the development of training modules and implementation plans.
- Facilitating training and capacity-building activities of the other project staff.
- Assisting in the development and execution of health promotion strategies at selected sites.
- Technical assistance to the finance team for assisting the PI in the grant management.
- Supporting quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
- Drafting project-related reports, academic papers, and other documents.
- Fulfilling other duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator.

***Technical /Area of Expertise**:
The incumbent shall be a Masters in Microbiology/public health/social work with proven track record of field working and laboratory experience. Work experience in leprosy or other similar diseases will be a preferred advantage. Persons with experience in field based research projects and project management will be given preference.

**What you would need to have**
- MSc Microbiology/MPH/MSW with Bachelors in Microbiology/Laboratory sciences

**Skills required**:

- Primary
- Prior experience in a research project or public health project.
- Prior experience working on managing the research project, data analysis, and writing reports.
- Laboratory expertise

**Secondary**
- Data management and analytical skills with an understanding of statistical software packages.
- Academic publications

**Remuneration: 35,0000 per month
