Currently Pursuing/Bachelor’s Degree in electrical / mechanical / controls engineering or similar degree.
- 0 to 1 years of experience in Data Center or any mission critical facility operations.
- Demonstrate key electrical competencies (Practice & Theory)
- Knowledge of mechanical systems (Mechanical, HVAC systems, Controls)
- A Basic understanding on the nature of mission critical systems (Data Centers, Hospitals, Power plants, military facilities, etc.).
- Operations mindset and ability to restore breakdowns by adhering to processes.
- Ability to solve problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context.
- Ability to draft accurate support procedures, system documentation, and issue tracking entries
- Ability to respond to the situations as per Emergency Operating Procedures.
- Ability to prioritize in complex, fast-paced environment.
- Proactively and continually improve level of knowledge about Amazon’s business and relevant technologies.
- Ability to take ownership of technical issues brought to him/her by his/her customer base and engage other support teams if required.

**Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Operate and maintain mechanical, electrical and HVAC equipment.
- Assist root cause analysis of equipment failures.
- Assist in troubleshooting of facility and rack-level events within internal SLA by following Amazon processes.
- Ensure all safety and security procedures are adhered to while performing work.
- Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Utilize internal tools and portal to manage Data Center work flows.
- Participate in data center facility change management work and supervises the vendors performing them.
- Participate in vendor management and technical consultant work;
- Participate in EOP/SOP and emergency drill;
- Participate in emergency facility event response;
- Participate in local and global facility operation related projects;
- Responsible for Asset and Inventory management.
- Develop and maintain method statements, standard operating procedures, emergency response procedures, preventive maintenance programs, and all technical documentation.

**Incident and Emergency Response**:

- Preparing incident reports, documenting periodic trend summaries, and providing updates and recommended actions to management.
- Managing information flow adhering to EOPs during incidents while providing regular updates to management.
- Manage and coordinate with vendors to resolve any incidents during emergency situations. This may require to physically be dispatched on to site to investigate and resolve the issue.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Work on a 24x7 schedule (where applicable)
- Work at heights and from ladders.
- Perform physical tasks during the shift and coordinate body movements when using tools or equipment.
- Work in a noisy environment with ear protection
- A Basic understanding of the Electrical systems in critical Data Center operations that include but not limited to utility substation feeds, transformers, switchgear, VFI Class UPS, DRUPS, PDUs, ATS, STS, SLA/VRLA batteries and associated systems, diesel/gas turbine generators and related fuel systems, Surge Suppression, Active Harmonic Filtering, battery monitoring systems, branch circuit monitoring systems, SCADA systems.
- A Basic understanding of the Mechanical systems in critical Data Center operations include but not limited to CRAC/CRAHs/AHUs, chillers, cooling towers, storage tanks, chemical system, heat exchangers, piping systems, pumps, valves, duct systems, fans, dampers.
- A Basic understanding of other facilities systems used in Data Centers and Mission critical facilities, including but not limited to fire detection and suppression systems, plumbing and drainage systems, Building Monitoring Systems, automatic control systems.
- Meets / exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role

- Basic understanding of audits and regulatory requirements. Good Communication skills to work with amazon personnel and Vendor critical facilities management teams.
