System Architect

**JOB IDENTIFICATION**:
**JOB TITLE**: System Architect

**BUSINESS UNIT**: Environmental** SUPERVISOR**: Program Manager (USA)

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTION**: Orchestrate end-to-end implementation of enterprise scale, cloud-based system architecture to support business goals. Work with multiple stakeholders to understand current and future product requirements and lead the development of an architecture which executes upon those requirements. Provide leadership to technical team members in the execution of project assignments in conjunction with Project Manager.

**JOB QUALIFICATIONS**:
**EDUCATION**:
**Bachelor’s/ Master’s in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an engineering discipline with a heavy emphasis on computer science is required.**

**EXPERIENCE**:

- Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience as a system architect designing,

developing, & implementing cloud-based systems, Total experience of twelve (12) + years.- Experience defining and implementing web APIs.

**DISCIPLINE SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE**:

- Data Engineering: Experience in defining and implementing effective Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) pipelines at scale, utilizing structured and unstructured data sources. Experience of working with large volumes and high velocity of time series data.
- Software Engineering: Proven object-oriented programming skills. Experience with C++, Python, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript. Experience with full stack development from raw data ingest, to database management, to user interface design and implementation.
- Others: Working knowledge of CI/CD, Version Control, Data warehousing, Machine Learning and tools such as Git, S3, Sagemaker, Cassandra, React.

**GENERAL**:

**JOB FUNCTIONS**:
**SPECIFIC**:

- Design a scalable and secure cloud-based architecture to accommodate thousands of users and large volumes of equipment-generated data.
- Integrate databases, user interfaces, APIs, and cloud services to create a seamless user experience.
- Design and implement APIs to facilitate seamless data exchange between equipment, the cloud-based solution, and other external systems.
- Ensure compatibility with existing systems and future integration needs
- Select appropriate cloud infrastructure and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) based on system requirements and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with cloud service providers to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and security; oversee cloud infrastructure configuration, deployment & maintenance
- Implement optimal query strategies for efficient data retrieval and analysis; develop robust data integrity and backup/recovery procedures- Create intuitive and user-friendly web-based interfaces that enable seamless data interaction and collaboration.
- Prioritize usability and accessibility for a wide range of users with varying technical expertise
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for data security, privacy, and regulatory requirements
- Ensure compatibility with existing systems and future integration needs.
- Ensure all solutions exhibit high levels of performance, security, scalability, maintainability, and appropriate reusability and reliability upon deployment.

- Work closely with cross-functional team, including scientists, engineers, and IT professionals, to understand product requirements and align systems with organizational goals.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, both technical and non-technical, to ensure clarity and alignment.
