Job Description: Fettling and Quality Supervisor

Position: Fettling and Quality Supervisor

Industry: Foundry

Location: Kovilpalayam,Sathy road,Coimbatore

Reporting to: CEO

Key Responsibilities:
Fettling Operations:
1. Supervise and manage fettling operations, including grinding, cutting, and finishing of castings.

2. Ensure adherence to quality standards during fettling processes to meet customer specifications.

3. Plan and allocate work to fettling operators for optimal productivity.

4. Train and guide fettling staff on the use of tools and safety practices.

Quality Control:
1. Inspect raw castings and finished products to ensure dimensional accuracy and surface quality.

2. Monitor and ensure compliance with quality standards, including ISO or customer-specific standards.

3. Identify and address defects such as shrinkages, blowholes, and misruns, coordinating with the production team for corrective actions.

4. Maintain quality inspection records and prepare quality reports for management.

Team Management:
1. Lead and motivate the fettling and quality control team to meet daily production and quality targets.

2. Conduct regular skill assessments and training for team members.

3. Ensure a clean, organized, and safe working environment.

Safety & Compliance:
1. Implement safety procedures and ensure proper use of PPEs in fettling operations.

2. Monitor compliance with foundry safety regulations and address potential hazards.

3. Conduct periodic audits of fettling and quality processes to ensure continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Foundry Engineering or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in a foundry or manufacturing environment, with exposure to fettling and quality assurance.
- Knowledge of casting defects, quality inspection tools, and fettling equipment.

Skills Required:

- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and quality tools (e.g., Vernier Caliper, Micrometer).
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with workplace safety protocols.
