Introduction:
The AVP role has a wide-ranging remit across Barclays, playing a supporting role in protecting the bank from climate risk.

What will you be doing?

The AVP role has a wide-ranging remit across Barclays, playing a supporting role in protecting the bank from climate risk. This encompasses four key areas to support the measurement of climate risk and its integration into the Climate Change Principal Risk:

- Climate Scenario Analysis, including delivery of regulatory and internal exercises
- Measuring the carbon footprint of Barclays financing
- Integration of climate metrics into Barclays Climate Risk Framework
- Stakeholder engagement and communications

What we’re looking for:

- Experience in using or developing climate risk measurement tools and methodologies
- Risk and/or sustainability background required, with experience as listed in the Role Purpose section
- Strong data manipulation and analytical abilities
- Proficient in Excel and/or other programming languages
- Modelling experience, although deep quantitative background not necessary
- Follows a rationale and logical thought process
- Proven problem solver with extensive experience working on projects from initiation phase to completion

Skills that will help you in the role:

- Awareness of business and franchise implications on Barclays from its strategic climate change objectives
- Knowledge of the Barclays Investment Banking and Corporate Banking key business lines, including capital markets
- Awareness of carbon accounting
