Job Summary:
The Scrum Master will play a pivotal role in facilitating Agile practices and guiding cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality educational technology products. You will ensure the smooth implementation of Scrum methodologies, removing obstacles, and fostering an environment where teams can thrive and achieve project goals. This role is perfect for an individual passionate about technology and education, with experience in leading Agile teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate Scrum Meetings:
Lead and organize daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and sprint reviews to ensure the team follows Scrum practices effectively.
Coach and Mentor Teams:
Guide development teams on Agile best practices and principles, ensuring they follow Scrum processes and continuously improve their efficiency and effectiveness.
Remove Impediments:
Actively identify and remove any obstacles or blockers that may hinder the team's progress, ensuring they can meet their goals and deadlines.
Collaborate with Stakeholders:
Work closely with product owners, business analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are well-defined and that the team has a clear understanding of the priorities.
Promote Agile Culture:
Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement. Help teams adapt and embrace change in an Agile environment.
Track and Report Progress:
Use Agile metrics (such as velocity, burn-down charts, and sprint reports) to monitor the team's progress, and provide updates to senior leadership and stakeholders on the project status.
Ensure Quality Delivery:
Help ensure that the team consistently delivers high-quality features on time by supporting both the team's development efforts and the product quality assurance processes.
Conflict Resolution:
Address any team conflicts or challenges in a positive manner, ensuring that teams stay motivated and focused on delivering value.
Support Product Owner:
Assist the Product Owner in managing the product backlog, ensuring the team is focused on delivering the highest value items and understanding the vision for the product.
Qualifications:
Education:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Education Technology, Business, or a related field is preferred.
Certifications:
Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or similar Agile certifications are required.
Experience:
At least 2-3 years of experience as a Scrum Master in an Agile environment.
Experience working within the EduTech industry or on projects involving educational products or services is a plus.
Familiarity with Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) and tools (Jira, Trello, Confluence, etc.).
Skills:
Strong communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables.
Passion for technology and education, with a focus on continuous improvement.
Preferred to be:
Experience in the EduTech or EdTech field, with an understanding of educational platforms, eLearning solutions, or learning management systems (LMS).
Strong knowledge of Agile metrics and data-driven decision-making.
Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, designers, and QA engineers.
Ability to promote a learner-centric environment and inspire a team to deliver the best possible educational products.
