Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement strategic research initiatives in line with the colleges vision and goals.
  • Provide leadership for fostering a vibrant research culture across all departments.
  • Establish long-term goals for the Research and Development (R&D) department, promoting high-quality research output.

Research Promotion:

  • Encourage faculty and students to engage in research activities and projects.
  • Organize seminars, workshops, and conferences to promote interdisciplinary research and collaboration.
  • Mentor faculty members in securing grants, publishing papers, and obtaining research funding.

Research Funding and Grants:

  • Identify and pursue funding opportunities from government, private sector, and international organizations.
  • Coordinate with external agencies to secure research grants, fellowships, and sponsored research projects.
  • Facilitate the preparation and submission of research proposals.

Industry Collaboration and Consultancy:

  • Foster relationships with industry partners for collaborative research projects and consultancy assignments.
  • Facilitate industry-sponsored projects for faculty and students, leading to publications and patents.

Research Administration:

  • Oversee the smooth functioning of all R&D activities within the college.
  • Ensure compliance with ethical standards, regulations, and quality assurance in research practices.
  • Coordinate with various departments to integrate research efforts and avoid duplication.

Research Outcomes:

  • Drive efforts towards publishing high-quality research papers in reputed national and international journals.
  • Facilitate the registration of patents, innovations, and copyrights arising from research activities.
  • Monitor and assess the progress of ongoing research projects and deliverables.

Resource Management:

  • Manage the research budget, ensuring optimal use of funds for research infrastructure, labs, and equipment.
  • Identify resource requirements and facilitate the acquisition of advanced research tools and facilities.

Capacity Building:

  • Promote and support the development of research skills among faculty and students through training and development programs.
  • Encourage faculty participation in international and national research collaborations.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare periodic reports on research activities, funding, publications, and outcomes.
  • Maintain records of research grants, intellectual property, and patents.



Qualifications and Experience:

  • Ph.D. in a relevant field with a strong research background.
  • Minimum 10-15 years of experience in research, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of publications, patents, and successful grant acquisition.
  • Experience in managing research projects and leading interdisciplinary teams.
  • Strong industry connections and experience in fostering industry-academia collaborations.

  • Ability to network and build partnerships with academia, industry, and funding agencies.
