Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Grinder to join our client’s fabrication team in Trichy. The ideal candidate will be responsible for grinding metal components to specified finishes and tolerances using various grinding machines and tools. Precision, safety, and adherence to quality standards are essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate grinding machines (such as angle grinders, bench grinders, and surface grinders) to smooth and finish metal parts.

Perform finishing operations on welded structures to meet dimensional and surface requirements.

Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and job orders.

Inspect and measure workpieces using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to ensure accuracy.

Remove burrs, weld splatter, rust, and surface defects using hand and power tools.

Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and report any malfunctions.

Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate protective gear during grinding operations.

Collaborate with welders, fitters, and supervisors to meet production timelines.

Essential Qualifications:

ITI / Diploma in Mechanical or any technical trade (preferred).

Minimum of 3 years of experience in a fabrication or metal workshop environment.

Skills Required:

Proficiency in operating various types of grinding tools and machinery.

Strong understanding of surface finishing, grinding angles, and abrasive selection.

Ability to read engineering drawings and job specifications.

Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.

Knowledge of workplace safety standards and PPE usage.

Physically fit and able to handle long working hours and standing positions.
