The Quality Lead is responsible for overseeing and managing the quality assurance & quality control operations within the organization. This role ensures that all products and processes meet the stringent quality standards required in the aerospace industry, adhering to regulatory requirements and company policies.
Role & Responsibilities:
● Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System in accordance with AS9100 standards and Design Organisation Manual, ePlane.
● Managing audits of the quality system for deficiency identification, effectiveness, compliance and correction
● Ensure compliance with all aerospace regulatory requirements (FAA, EASA, DGCA, CEMILAC, etc).
● Working with cross functional teams to ensure aerospace products meet quality standards
● Conducting failure analysis and providing recommendations for process improvements
● Lead continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies like Six Sigma, Lean, and Root Cause Analysis.
● Organize Design Reviews to analyze Quality
● Identify and implement best practices to improve product quality and process efficiency.
● Overseeing training and development of staff involved in quality control processes
● Reviewing customer requirements and ensuring they are met in the final products
● Conduct all inspection and testing activities to ensure product quality.
● Develop metrics for evaluating Design Quality & Provide regular quality performance reports to senior management.
● Managing document control including standards, policies, procedures, and work instructions
● Keeping up to date with international quality standards in the aerospace industry
● Communicating with customers and suppliers about quality issues and solutions
● Conduct supplier audits and work with suppliers to resolve quality issues.
● Develop and implement supplier quality agreements and improvement plans.
● Overseeing risk management and mitigation related to product quality
● Ensure that all quality assurance activities comply with safety regulations and standards.
● Promote a culture of safety and quality within the organization.
Desired Skills:
● Proven experience in leading the Quality activities in the aerospace industry.
● Good knowledge of MS Office and databases.
● Outstanding communication skills.
● Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
● Great attention to detail and a result driven approach.
● Reliable and Trustworthy.
● Should be familiar with raw materials qualification standards (ASTM/BS/IS etc) for metallics and Composites.
● Must know in-process and final quality acceptance of composite hardware realized through hand layup, and other processes, both through conventional and NDT techniques.
Qualifications :
● Should hold an engineering degree in Mechanical/Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering with at least 8 years of experience or Diploma in mechanical with 12 + years of experience dedicatedly into Quality Management systems
● AS9100 Lead Auditor certification is highly desirable.
● Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus.
● In-depth knowledge of AS9100 standards and aerospace regulatory requirements.
● Proficiency in quality management software and tools.
● Ability to lead and motivate a team.
● Strong project management skills.
Work Location: Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India

Job Type: Full time, Work from office.
The role is primarily office-based but may require visits to manufacturing facilities and suppliers.
Occasional travel to customer sites and industry events.
