JOB DETAILS
1. During the research and testing phases, chemists need to accurately record all variables, such as chemical type, amount, compound components, chemical temperature and test duration
2. They must also adhere to safety standards during laboratory testing, such as wearing protective clothing and taking additional precautions as needed
3. Communicating frequently with team members and other departments
4. Some of those communications may involve discussing advertising options with marketing teams or return on investment possibilities with financial departments
5. Work in laboratories conducting tests
6. Some tests may involve mixing different chemicals or polymers together to discover the results and chemical properties
7. Prepare samples using laboratory dispersion and blending equipment
8. Support product or process improvement ideas as applied to product sample production and testing procedures and related work applications
9. Provide project support and assistance to Research and Development Chemist as needed
10. Provide technical guidance to Research and Development Technicians as needed
