Job Title: Senior Structural Designer – North East Salary: £30-37k Basic + benefits Location: North East Reference: J1788 Contact: Telephone: 0141 647 6688 Categories: , , , • To design packaging solutions which meet the customers’ needs and requirements in such a way that they can be manufactured easily and cost effectively? In the role you will be expected to support internal customers: sales, commercial, production with relevant documentation, specifications and drawings in a timely manner. • This is a key position within the business unit and has the opportunity to influence the efficient, cost effective manufacture of our products. • Able to demonstrate a naturally creative and curious mind-set and an appetite to consider design and technical solutions from an innovative perspective. • A genuine interest in working with world class brand owners, and in the role of brands and retailing in driving consumer facing businesses. • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-tasking and multi-disciplined you will have several projects and requirements at any one time. • Good written and oral communication skills, able to present an argument well and also be a trusted advisor amongst client-side peers from different departments. • A natural commitment to reject mediocrity and strive for high-performance. • Excellent organizational and planning skills – shares critical information and co-ordinates appropriately. • Excellent written and oral communication skills. • Strong presentation skills. • Reasonable (and developing) understanding of commercial factors within business. • A flexible attitude to work demands as client service and satisfaction are key to our success. • Makes sound judgments and decisions in a professional manner. • Supports diversity – values diverse perspectives, treats individuals fairly and with respect. • Works to improve performance of oneself and others – encouraging continuous learning and feedback. • The ability to handle difficult situations in a patient, calm and effective way, and to work to pressurised deadlines when necessary. • An interest in protecting the environment and a commitment to working with the team to advise clients on how to improve the impacts of their packaging activity. • Computer literate: Excel, Word, Power Point.
