Medical coder

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Coder to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assigning medical codes to diagnoses, procedures, and medical services in compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.

• Assign codes to medical diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10 and CPT codes
• Review and interpret medical records, patient charts, and physician notes to ensure accurate coding
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to obtain accurate and complete documentation
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date knowledge of healthcare regulations, coding guidelines, and reimbursement policies
• Analyze medical claims data to identify areas for improvement in coding accuracy and completeness
• Communicate with insurance companies and other payers to resolve coding-related issues
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA regulations
• Other duties as assigned

• Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
• 2-12 years of experience in medical coding
• Certification in medical coding (e.g. CPC, CCS, RHIT)
• In-depth knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding systems
• Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health record (EHR) systems
