Manager - Fixed Income Sales

A. Overview of the position
The ideal candidate will lead sales initiatives with Banking, Non-Banking Institutions
and PF/Trusts to build new business for the company. He/ She will oversee the
operational requirements of the Fixed Income business and coordinate at tactical
levels, with the different functions of SGMPL. The candidate should be well versed
and updated with the Fixed Income market and be able to work independently. The
candidate will play a crucial role in expanding our client base and fostering lasting
relationships.
B. Qualification
o Primary: Bachelors in commerce
o CA (Inter) and/ or Diploma in Investment Management, financial markets or
allied domains
C. Experience and Skills
o Minimum of 3 years of experience in the debt market with a proven track
record of successful client engagement, sales and revenue generation.
o Conversant on debt markets, understanding market dynamics, and trends.
Prior experience working with institutions is highly desirable.
o Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain
complex concepts in a clear and concise manner. Preference will be given to
candidates who are well-versed in the local language
o Demonstrate a proactive attitude and enthusiasm for learning about debt
markets and staying updated on industry developments.
o Proven understanding of commercial terms, pertaining to financial products;
o Strong problem solving, analytical, organizational and inter-personal skills;
o Computer literacy in Microsoft Office and other tools;
o Commitment to work with leadership and cross-functional teams;
o Openness to travel, to meet internal and external business demands.
D. Working Relationship
The positions report to the Head of Business Development and serves as a
member of the sales team. This position participates with the management team
towards operationalizing sales transactions and new initiatives of SGMPL. It also
has working relationship with other cross-functional teams.

E. Key Responsibilities
• Client Engagement: Initiate and manage conversations with prospective
institutional clients for empanelment as well as servicing their investment
needs and also educate them with industry insights.
• Communication: Clearly articulate views on debt securities and
organizational philosophy to clients, ensuring they have a thorough
understanding of our approach.
• Customer Relationship Management: Develop and maintain positive
relationships with clients, addressing inquiries, preparing quotes from time to
time, and providing ongoing support to ensure client satisfaction.
• Market Knowledge: Stay informed about developments in the debt markets,
industry trends, and economic factors to effectively communicate relevant
information to clients.
• Success Measures: Work towards achievement of revenue targets while
ensuring client satisfaction and strengthening client relationships
F. Other Responsibilities
o Coordinate and collaborate with other functional departments, to facilitate
meeting of business objectives;
o Ensure effective utilization of the Company’s resources;
o Ensure the functions’ adherence to SGMPL’s policies and procedures;
o Ensure that the organization’s properties and assets are safeguarded.
