Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Android Developer to lead and participate in the development of Android applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Android app development, deep knowledge of Android SDK, and experience working with modern mobile development technologies. As a Senior Android Developer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and optimize high-performance Android applications that are scalable, maintainable, and user-friendly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Led the development and maintenance of Android applications using Java and Kotlin.
  • Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend developers to build seamless mobile experiences.
  • Architect and implement new features and improve the performance of existing features in Android apps.
  • Optimize applications for maximum performance, speed, and scalability.
  • Write clean, modular, reusable, and maintainable code following industry best practices.
  • Ensure the quality of the application through unit tests, integration tests, and code reviews.
  • Participate in design and architecture discussions, sharing knowledge and providing mentorship to junior team members.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends in Android development, tools, and technologies.
  • Troubleshoot, debug and resolve performance issues, crashes, and other bugs.
  • Integrate with RESTful APIs and third-party libraries to implement required features.
  • Work in Agile environments, participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in Android application development.
  • Proficiency in Java and Kotlin, with strong knowledge of the Android SDK.
  • In-depth understanding of Android architecture components, such as LiveData, ViewModel, Room, WorkManager, and Navigation.
  • Strong experience with MVVM, MVP, or MVC design patterns in Android development.
  • Expertise in using Android Studio and common Android development tools and libraries (e.g., Retrofit, Glide, Dagger, Room, Firebase).
  • Solid understanding of mobile UI/UX design principles and ability to implement pixel-perfect designs.
  • Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs and integrating third-party libraries and services.
  • Experience in using version control systems such as Git.
  • Understanding of performance optimization techniques, including multithreading, memory management, and battery usage in Android apps.
  • Experience with unit testing, UI testing (e.g., JUnit, Espresso, Mockito), and ensuring high-quality code.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated builds, and deployment (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Knowledge of Google Play Store guidelines and experience with app submission and release management.
  • Understanding of cloud services (e.g., Firebase, AWS).
  • Good knowledge of Android security best practices.
  • Familiarity with Google APIs (e.g., Google Maps, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Cloud Messaging, etc.).

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Kotlin Coroutines and Flow for asynchronous programming.
  • Experience with mobile app architecture patterns like Clean Architecture.
  • Knowledge of Bluetooth, Proximity, and other advanced Android features.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and Test Automation frameworks.
  • Experience with TDD.

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
