Job Summary:

  • The technician ensures wind turbines operate safely and efficiently through scheduled preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and emergency response—typically at heights and in remote locations.

Responsibilities :

  1. Conduct regular inspections of turbine components—rotor blades, gearboxes, generators, controllers, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  2. Perform preventive maintenance , including lubrication, torque checks, oil changes, cleaning, and parts replacement.
  3. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using hand tools and diagnostic equipment (voltage testers, mustimeters, oscilloscopes
  4. Execute corrective repairs on failed components, coordinate with engineering support as needed.
  5. Maintain detailed service logs, maintenance records, and intervention reports in accordance with company protocols.
  6. Respond to emergency outages or breakdowns , ensuring rapid restoration of turbine function.
  7. Monitor and optimize wind turbine performance using SCADA systems.
  8. Work in teams and collaborate with site managers, Skip-level supervisors, and engineering teams to propose improvements, upgrades, and process optimizations.

Qualifications :

  1. Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  2. 4–6 years of experience in wind turbine O&M or renewable energy projects.
  3. Familiarity with wind turbine electrical components and grid integration processes.

Working conditions :

  1. On-site work at wind farms, often in remote locations.
  2. Exposure to heights, electrical systems, rotating equipment, and weather elements.
  3. May require rotational shifts and extended working hours.

  4. Ability to work in remote, harsh, or high-altitude environments.
  5. Proficient in Microsoft Office and HSE reporting software.
