Project description
Support an iconic Australian brand as they seek to replace and modernise core trading and clearing platforms.
You will be working on the latest technologies (AWS, Java Spring Boot, Kubernetes, Kafka) in a greenfield project building out new digital experiences and core trading capability for this major financial institution.
Responsibilities
-As a Java back-end developer, you will be working within a team in charge of the back-end API/Kafka services integrating with the existing Clearing platform.
-You will be participating in a larger program consisting in migrating a large monolithic clearing application into a distributed application based on micro-services as well as shifting from an on-premise installation to the Cloud.
Skills
Must have
-7+ years of relevant working experience
-Worked with, and delivered on, enterprise CI/CD capabilities and tools, providing guidance on best practices and helping enable major programs to deliver business value.
-Experience designing, building and testing Java applications, micro services, data streaming capabilities.
-Experience with API Swagger design
-Experience building micro services using Java Spring Boot
-Experience building micro services and/or Serverless Applications like Lambda with Node JS
-In-depth knowledge of popular Java frameworks like Spring Boot & Spring MVC
-Cloud Engineering, Dev Ops, or Architecture certifications on AWS (Preferred) or GCP incl Kubernetes Cluster Containerized based Java Spring Boot applications
-Experience on Apache Kafka / Confluent Kafka
-Experience in designing and integrating RESTful APIs
-Experience with Object-Oriented Design (OOD)
-Good delegation and time management skills
-Problem-solving abilities
-Participate in all aspects of agile software development, including design, implementation, and deployment
-Engage with inspiring designers and front-end engineers, and collaborate with leading back-end engineers to create reliable APIs
-Collaborate across time zones via documents, and frequent videoconferences
-Excellent debugging and optimization skills
-Experience in unit/integration and Non-Functional testing
-Experience with complex data structures and semi structured data (JSON, XML)
-Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent IT discipline.
Nice to have
-Experience logging & Monitoring tools like Open Telemetry & Cloud Observability
