Job description

Job Title: Communication & Speech Therapist (BSLP) – Special Education

Location: Patna, India

Experience: Minimum 1 year working with special children

Organization: Prodigy S.I.R.F


We are looking for an experienced Communication & Speech Therapist (BSLP) to work with children with special needs, helping them develop effective communication skills. The ideal candidate should have experience in speech therapy interventions for children with autism, ADHD, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, and other developmental conditions.


Key Responsibilities

1. Assessment & Diagnosis

Conduct thorough evaluations of speech, language, and communication challenges in special children.

Utilize standardized tests, observations, and caregiver insights to assess articulation, fluency, voice, and comprehension.

Diagnose speech-related difficulties associated with neurodevelopmental disorders.


2. Individualized Therapy & Intervention

Develop personalized therapy plans tailored to each child’s needs.

Work on articulation, voice modulation, fluency, and comprehension skills.

Utilize AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) tools and sign language for non-verbal children.

Implement play-based and multisensory therapy techniques to maximize engagement.


3. Parent & Caregiver Training

Guide parents and teachers on communication-building techniques for home and school.

Provide training on integrating speech therapy into daily routines.

Conduct workshops for educators on inclusive communication strategies.


4. Collaboration & Teamwork

Work closely with special educators, occupational therapists, psychologists, and medical professionals.

Provide input on integrating speech therapy within educational and intervention programs.

Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings.


5. Documentation & Progress Tracking

Maintain comprehensive case records, therapy reports, and progress notes.

Update therapy goals based on each child’s improvements.

Share progress reports with parents and modify intervention strategies as needed.


6. Advocacy & Awareness

Conduct awareness programs on early intervention and speech therapy benefits.

Advocate for inclusive education and accessibility for children with speech challenges.

Educate communities and schools on the importance of speech therapy.


Requirements

✔ Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (BSLP/MSLP)

✔ Experience working with children with special needs (minimum 1 year preferred)

✔ Strong knowledge of speech therapy techniques and intervention strategies

✔ Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team

✔ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
