Business Impact Analyst

A Business Impact Analyst is responsible for assessing the impact of potential risks, threats, and vulnerabilities to a company's ongoing operations, regulatory compliance, corporate reputation, and finances. Creates an inventory of critical business processes and establishes Recovery Point Objectives that reduce the likelihood that a danger will have a substantial impact. Plans and executes annual Business Impact Analysis (BIA) in collaboration with business units Findings should be tested against multiple threat scenarios during the Risk Assessment process. Potential business interruptions should be prioritized based on the likelihood of the event occurring and the likelihood of negative effects on business operations. The findings of a business impact analysis can be used to support investments in risk avoidance and mitigation, as well as disaster recovery and business continuity plans. ACCOUNTABILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS BIA Program: Creates a structure for Business Impact Analysis, and process for annual assessment. Identifying Critical Functions: Conducts interviews with department heads and stakeholders to identify critical business functions. Impact Assessment: Assesses the potential impact of disruptions to critical business processes across the four pillars of disruption to ongoing operations, regulatory compliance, corporate reputation, and company financial performance. Recovery Time Objectives (RTO): Establishes RTOs for each critical function. Dependency Mapping: Identifies dependencies between critical functions and IS systems and applications. Testing and Maintenance: Plans and executes annual Business Impact Analysis (BIA) in collaboration with department leaders. Analyses the alignment of Business RTO requirements with IT Recovery capabilities. Ø *Oversees daily work flow and projects for team. · *Subject matter expert for team job functions. · *Fosters a learning environment and mentors team members. · *Works with minimum supervision and makes independent judgments. · *Assists management with development of results-oriented processes and project management. · *Initiates, establishes and maintains highly effective relationships with business contacts of various cultures, and at all levels. · *Flexible to meet the changing needs of the business and willingness to take on new responsibilities and assignments. · *Extremely confidential and trustworthy. · *Regular attendance at work is an essential part of the job. SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS Should have project management certification. Should have experience in Risk Management and Business Continuity Management. IT experience is a plus. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE 7 plus years overall IT/IS experience or three to five years’ relevant experience in Business Impact analysis and risk management. Minimum 2 years prior work experience that is relevant to the team you will lead.
