Job Title: Chief Technical Officer (CTO)

Location: (Based at Vadodara, To travel as per requirement)

We are a leading EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) company dedicated to advancing transport infrastructure and energy transition solutions. With a clear focus on energy transition, we specialize in large-scale Solar PV and want to make inroads in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). As we expand our portfolio in the renewable energy sector, we are looking for a visionary and technically adept Chief Technical Officer (CTO) to lead our engineering, technology, and innovation initiatives.

Job Summary:

The CTO will be responsible for driving the overall technical direction of the company’s projects in renewable energy, with a special focus on Solar PV and BESS. You will oversee all aspects of the engineering and technological framework required to execute large-scale projects, ensuring that all technical operations align with the company’s growth strategies, sustainability goals, and financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

• Develop and execute the company’s technology and engineering strategy for energy transition, focusing on solar PV, BESS, and other renewable technologies.

• Provide technical leadership and guidance for large-scale renewable energy projects from conception through to completion.

• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and innovations in the renewable energy sector, ensuring the company remains competitive and at the forefront of the industry.

• Project Development & Management:

• Lead the design, engineering, and technical project execution for solar PV and BESS systems, ensuring that projects meet performance, quality, and cost targets.

• Collaborate with project management teams to ensure seamless integration of technology in EPC projects, while optimizing project timelines and budgets.

• Evaluate technical risk and develop mitigation strategies for complex, large-scale energy projects.

Team Development:

• Build and mentor a high-performing engineering and technical team, ensuring continuous learning, innovation, and professional development.

• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the technical teams.

• Technical Innovation & R&D:

• Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions, and technological advancements in renewable energy projects.

• Lead R&D initiatives for new technologies in solar PV, energy storage, and other renewable energy systems, ensuring the company remains competitive in the energy transition market.

• Stakeholder Management:

• Work closely with other cross-functional teams to align technical strategy with business goals.

• Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including suppliers, contractors, regulators, and customers, ensuring successful project delivery.

Compliance & Quality Assurance:

• Ensure all projects comply with local, national, and international regulations and industry standards (e.g., grid codes, safety protocols).

• Oversee quality assurance processes to ensure that engineering deliverables meet or exceed required standards.

• Financial & Budget Management:

• Collaborate with the management and project management teams to create and manage the technology budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and resource optimization.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field. Advanced degree (MBA, PhD) will be preferred.

• Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, with at least 2-5 years in a senior leadership role.

• Extensive experience in designing, developing, and deploying large-scale solar PV and experience of BESS projects.

• Deep understanding of the energy transition market, including regulatory frameworks, emerging technologies, and financial drivers.

• Proven leadership and team-building skills, with a track record of successfully managing large technical teams and complex projects.

• Strong knowledge of relevant engineering software, grid integration, and energy storage technologies.
