We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead to oversee the migration of our data infrastructure from Snowflake to Databricks . The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the migration strategy while ensuring the integrity, performance, and security of our data.
- Develop and document a comprehensive migration strategy, including assessment, planning, execution, and validation phases.
- Perform a gap analysis to identify compatibility issues between Snowflake and Databricks.
- Lead the design and architecture of the new Databricks-based data ecosystem.
- Provide technical direction to the team on data migration, pipeline re-engineering, and platform optimization.
- Ensure best practices for data engineering, security, and governance are followed throughout the migration process.
- Translate complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and Snowflake-specific functionalities to Databricks’ Spark-based environment.
- Design and implement cluster configurations and resource management strategies for optimal performance in Databricks.
- Conduct performance benchmarking and tuning of workloads post-migration.
- Experience with data quality validation frameworks (e.g., Great Expectations, Deequ)
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for data platforms
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with data governance tools like Unity Catalog
