Our platform combines domain knowledge, data engineering, and advanced LLM capabilities to deliver intelligence that drives business relationships.Role OverviewAs a Data & AI Engineer, you’ll lead the design and implementation of Kaitongo’s data infrastructure and AI pipelines.You’ll work closely with the backend (Python/Django), frontend (React), and leadership teams to define how data is ingested, structured, processed, and transformed into AI-driven insights.You’ll also review and approve PRs, set coding standards, and own the evolution of Kaitongo’s data and model architecture.Key ResponsibilitiesAI / Gen AI SystemsDevelop and manage RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines using vector databases (Weaviate, Open AI, etc.).Optimize LLM workflows and agents — including prompt chains, context retrieval, fine-tuning, and caching.Collaborate with backend and product teams to productionize Gen AI capabilities.Data Architecture & InfrastructureDesign, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouses.Integrate diverse data sources (internal systems, external APIs, structured and unstructured).Implement data models that support analytics, ML, and LLM-based features.Data Ops & MLOpsEstablish CI/CD, model versioning, and data validation workflows.Implement observability and quality checks across data and model pipelines.Work with APIs (Open AI, others) and cloud-native AI services.Technical LeadershipConduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and enforce engineering best practices.Collaborate with leadership on architectural decisions and scalability strategies.Participate in product ideation — bringing technical insight to business challenges.Qualifications3+ years of experience in data engineering, backend, or AI/ML infrastructure roles.Strong hands-on experience with Python, SQL, Django/Fast API, and ETL frameworks.Proven experience with data warehouses and data lakes (preferably Azure Data Lake).Deep understanding of LLM pipelines, vector databases, and embedding-based retrieval.Exposure to the Open AI ecosystem, agentic applications, and frameworks such as Lang Chain.Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes).Strong grasp of data governance, security, and performance optimization.Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related fields.Why Join KaitongoShape the data foundation of an AI-first market intelligence platform.Work directly with the founders and influence architectural direction.Solve real-world challenges at the intersection of data, AI, and business intelligence.Competitive salary + opportunity to grow in a fast-changing Gen AI-native environment.
