Embedded Firmware Architect We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Embedded Firmware Architect with 15 to 20+ years of expertise in designing and developing embedded firmware for industrial automation, power electronics, and IOT. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in firmware development, project management, and a deep understanding of various industrial communication protocols, product lifecycle management, and embedded systems. You will work with a team of engineers to design, develop, and deliver cutting-edge firmware solutions for complex systems while ensuring high-quality standards and efficient project execution. Your role will also involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, identifying tools to improve firmware quality, and guiding the development process from requirement gathering to deployment. Location: Pune Experience Level: 18+ Years Employment Type: Full-Time Key Responsibilities: Lead and develop firmware for a wide range of embedded products, including UPS, Inverters, communication cards, and display cards. Manage full product lifecycle development (CPD and PDLC processes) encompassing requirements gathering, analysis, design, development, testing, and maintenance. Develop and integrate various industrial communication protocols such as Modbus RTU/TCP, Ethernet IP, MQTT, SNMP, BACnet and more. Lead a team of firmware engineers and manage project planning, risk identification, mitigation, and configuration management. Guide the development process through concept selection, design reviews, feature enhancements, security, and memory management for firmware components. Define and implement firmware quality guidelines and checklists covering design, coding, unit testing, and integration testing. Conduct static and dynamic analysis using tools like QAC, Coverity and Vector CAST to ensure high firmware quality. Collaborate closely with stakeholders from business, service, production, marketing, quality, and test teams to ensure efficient coordination from requirement gathering to product delivery. Lead system integration efforts involving PLCs, HMIs, I/O cards, SCADA, and communication cards. Provide technical leadership in complex embedded applications specially time sensitive applications. Required Skills & Expertise: Embedded Firmware Design & Development: 15 to 20+ years of experience with a proven track record in industrial automation, power electronics, and IOT. Experience or exposure of ARM Cortex M4, A72, ARM7/9, Coldfire (MCF5xxx), TI Tiva Series Microcontrollers (TM4c129x), STM32, TI MSP430, ESP8266 and ESP32 and Raspberry Pi. Experience and understanding of PHY/MAC, Switches on Single So C (Multicore architecture) solutions with different MII interfaces for Ethernet networks. Programming Languages: Proficiency in C/C++, Java Script, and Python programming. Industrial Protocols: Deep knowledge of Modbus RTU/TCP, Ethernet IP, MQTT, SNMP, and TCP/IP protocols. Version Control & Tools: Expert in Clear Case, SVN, Git, Bit bucket, Code Collaborator, Fisheye, Crucible. Development Environments: Source Insight, Eclipse, Android Studio, Visual Studio, Py Chram, Code Composer, VS Code. Project Management: Strong experience in Agile/Scrum development environments and tools like JIRA, Jama, CLM (RTC, DNG), and ALM. Firmware Quality: Expertise in improving firmware quality through static and dynamic analysis (QAC, Coverity, Vector CAST), and leading quality assurance processes. System Integration: Hands-on experience with integrating UPS, Inverters, HMIs, communication cards, and SCADA systems. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or related field. Proven ability to lead and mentor engineering teams.
