It’s a game of power, rhythm, and emotion... of gods and demons, light and shadow.If you love crafting expressive animation that breathes life into mythic heroes and monstrous enemies, we’d love to have you join us.Role OverviewWe’re seeking a Character Animator with a strong sense of weight, timing, and personality, skilled in animating stylised, combat-focused characters. You’ll work closely with our 3 D artists, technical artists, and designers to bring a juicy, responsive feel to combat and gameplay. You’ll help define the motion language of gods and demons, from divine attacks to primal roars.This role offers creative ownership, cross-functional collaboration, and direct impact on the moment-to-moment feel of the game.ResponsibilitiesAnimate stylised heroes and enemies in 3 D from idle to complex combat, spell, and death animations.Collaborate closely with the design and VFX teams to ensure timing, anticipation, and follow-through feel powerful and responsive in-game.Refine gameplay feel through iteration, ensuring attacks connect, reads are clear, and animations sync seamlessly with VFX and SFX.Contribute to cinematic moments (e.g., hero summon, ultimate moves, boss intros) in collaboration with narrative and lighting artists.Rig and skin characters as required, with a focus on mobile-optimised efficiency.Maintain animation libraries and naming conventions aligned with the Unity pipeline.Collaborate on animation style guides, helping define the energy, rhythm, and silhouette language of movement across the game.RequirementsA strong showreel with an emphasis on gameplay/combat animation.Proficiency in Maya (Blender can be considered).Strong understanding of stylised animation principles - exaggeration, arcs, timing, secondary motion, and posing for readability.Ability to animate for responsiveness, not just beauty - understanding frame windows, hit timings, and blendspace logic.Strong functional understanding of rigging and weight painting for humanoids and creatures.Excellent communication skills, openness to feedback, and comfort working in a fast-moving indie environment.Bonus QualificationsExperience animating stylised fantasy or action games (mobile, PC, or console).Ability to create or refine character rigs for animation clarity and silhouette strength.Familiarity with VFX timing, animation state machines, and real-time implementation in Unity.A reel showcasing impactful combat animation - slams, charges, ultimates, or magic attacks.Passion for Indian mythology or fantasy world-building.Why Join UsAnimate mythic heroes and monsters - characters drawn from the Ramayana, Mahabharata, and Vedic lore.Work on a core gameplay pillar that directly defines feel and player emotion.Be part of a tight-knit, humble, and ambitious team crafting world-class games from India.Enjoy creative freedom and ownership in shaping animation language for a franchise IP.Grow with a studio backed by Lumikai, Kalaari, and Nodwin Games’ Akshat Rathee, building games for millions worldwide.
