VA Tech Wabag is seeking an accomplished professional to lead the Direct Tax function across India, the Middle East, and Africa. This role demands extensive knowledge of direct Tax, International taxation (TP), Tax Audit, Advance Tax, TDS and managing & closure of litigations in time in the respective regions. The ideal candidate will oversee compliance, transactional tax management, audits, and process improvements, ensuring timely and accurate adherence to tax laws while optimizing business efficiency.ABOUT THE ROLEThis role is for you if you are a tax professional looking for a step up in your tax career, learn about other tax legislations, and tax processes, with strong analytical, caring, communication, and organizational skills, curious to challenge the status quo and with an excellent leadership mindset. In this role, you will manage all applicable taxes i.e. Direct Tax, TP, Advance Tax, WHT / TDS Compliance, Directly responsible for tax advisory, assessments, litigation, Appeal.RESPONSIBILITIES – KEY FOCUS WILL BETax Planning Strategy:Develop and drive tax planning strategies for the Business Units (BU) to maximize tax savings and benefits for current business transactions and future plans. Collaborate with the business to identify and implement tax optimization opportunities. Ensure effective management of tax controversies.Documentation and Information Management:Lead the team in gathering necessary documentation and information for tax returns, tax planning, tax outflow forecasts, and collaborate with the business to plan for and implement tax-saving strategies.Assessments, Appeal & In time litigations management:Coordinate with the team, AO & Commissioner for the timely completion of assessments and follow-ups.
