Position:- Head of Department - Fashion & TextilesLocation: VadodaraParul Institute of DesignWe are actively hiring for the post of Head of Department for Fashion & Textiles specialization.HOD shall be responsible for providing strategic direction, academic leadership, and operational oversight for the Fashion Design department.Roles and Responsibilities:-The HOD will be responsible for curriculum development, program accreditation, faculty development, research promotion, and fostering strong connections with the design industry and the wider academic community.Academic Leadership and Vision:Develop and articulate a clear academic vision and strategic plan for the Design department/program, aligning with the university's overall mission and strategic goals.Faculty Leadership and Development:Lead, mentor, and evaluate faculty members within the Design department/program, fostering their professional growth and development in teaching, research, and service through faculty research activities, grant applications, and scholarly publications.Curriculum Development and Management:Oversee the development, review, and revision of the design curriculum at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, ensuring alignment with current industry standards and academic best practices.Student Engagement and Support:Oversee student advising and mentorship programs.Support student-led initiatives, design competitions, and extracurricular activities through internships, guest lectures, and portfolio reviews.Research and Innovation:Promote and support research activities within the Design department/program.Encourage faculty and student participation in research projects and scholarly activities.Qualifications:1. A Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in Design or a closely related field.2. Significant experience in teaching at the university level, with a demonstrated commitment to pedagogical innovation and student success.3. A strong understanding of current trends and challenges in design education and practice.4. Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving, conflict management and collaborative skills with analytical mindset.Preferred Qualifications:Relevant Experience in Fashion Design with minimum experience of 8 years.
