Job Description:
SOIL invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in the areas of Analytics and Operations. We seek a motivated and qualified candidate with a strong academic background and a passion for teaching and research in these interdisciplinary fields.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teaching:
a) Develop and deliver postgraduate courses in Analytics, Operations and allied subjects.
b) Design course materials, including syllabi, assignments, and assessments.
c) Utilize innovative teaching methods and technology to enhance student learning and engagement.
d) Mentor and advise students on academic and career paths.
2. Research:
a) Conduct and publish high-quality research in peer-reviewed journals in the field of business administration or technology.
b) Collaborate with faculty members on interdisciplinary research projects.
c) Seek funding opportunities for research initiatives and contribute to the intellectual environment of the department.
3. Academic Service:
a) Participate in departmental and university committees and initiatives.
b) Engage with the academic community through conferences, workshops, and seminars.
c) Support the development of curricula and academic programs that reflect current trends and industry needs.
4. Industry Engagement:
a) Establish and maintain links with industry partners to promote research collaboration and provide students with practical insights.
b) Organize guest lectures and workshops involving industry experts and practitioners.
Qualifications:
1) Education:
a) Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Analytics/Operations Management/Business Management or related field from a recognized university. Candidates who have submitted their thesis and are awaiting oral defence can also apply.
b) A strong record of academic achievements including publications in leading ABDC/SCOPUS/Web of Science indexed journals.
2) Experience:
a) Prior teaching experience of 2+ years at the university level is preferred.
b) Experience in industry or consultancy relevant to the discipline is a plus.
3) Skills:
a) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
b) Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
c) Proficiency in using analytical tools and software relevant to the domain (e.g., R, Python, SAS, Tableau).
d) Familiarity with quantitative and qualitative research methods.
