Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled GCP Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and systems on the Google Cloud Platform. As a key member of our data team, you will play a critical role in managing large-scale datasets and enabling advanced analytics and machine learning capabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines and workflows on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Build and maintain ETL processes for extracting, transforming, and loading structured and unstructured data.
  • Implement and manage data storage solutions, including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and other GCP services.
  • Ensure high availability and scalability of data solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to understand data requirements.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance data pipelines and workflows for performance and efficiency.
  • Develop and enforce best practices for data engineering, including security, compliance, and data governance.
  • Automate manual processes and optimize data delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Experience: 3 years as a Data Engineer, with hands-on experience in GCP.

  • Skills:
  • Strong proficiency in GCP services like BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Composer (Airflow).
  • Expertise in Python, Java, or Scala for data pipeline development.
  • Solid experience with SQL for querying and data transformation.
  • Familiarity with data modeling and schema design.
  • Experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes is a plus.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices is advantageous.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with real-time data streaming using Pub/Sub or Kafka.
  • Knowledge of data security practices and regulatory compliance on cloud platforms.
  • Exposure to machine learning pipelines and AI/ML tools on GCP.
  • Certifications such as Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer are highly desirable.
