We actively collaborate with corporate hospitals, nephrologist associations, and research institutions to expand our impact.Role DescriptionAlthion has a strong R&D pipeline including novel equipment for kidney dialysis, and kidney dialysis monitoring. This is a full-time, on-site role for a R&D Biomedical Research Engineer based in Hyderabad. The Biomedical Research Engineer will be responsible for developing and testing medical equipment as part of our strong R&D program. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating with clinical teams, and implementing design and development plans to meet regulatory and operational targets. The role emphasizes maintaining high standards in innovation, safety, and operational efficiency.ResponsibilitiesStrong knowledge of Biomedical Engineering and Clinical Engineering principlesCollaborating with healthcare professionals to understand their needs and challenges Conducting research to develop new materials and technologies for medical use.Designing, testing, and implementing medical equipment and devicesEnsuring compliance with medical device regulations and standardsManaging projects and deadlines effectivelyCollaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product developmentDocumenting design processes and technical specificationsIdentify alternate components based on design requirements & component specification/datasheet comparisonsConducting risk assessments and mitigating potential hazardsEvaluating the safety and efficacy of medical equipment and devicesTraining clinicians and other personnel on how to use biomedical machines and equipment, safely and effectively.Writing reports and documents detailing protocols, policies, standards of use, maintenance, and repairs of biomedical equipment, machines, and software.Researching new materials, technologies, and engineering aspects of biological processes and systems.Required QualificationsBTech/MTech/PhD in Biomedical engineering or equivalent1 to 4 Years of experience in working with Hardware product development or manufacturing, preferably in the medical sector (not compulsory)Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems in medical or other equipment sectorsStrong interest in understanding biological systems and medical processesProficiency in design toolsExperience or interest in medical device regulations and quality standardsExcellent problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to communicate technical information effectivelyAbility to work in a multidisciplinary team environmentStrong attention to detail and accuracy in documentationKnowledge and/or interest in FDA and ISO regulations for medical devicesProfessional certification in biomedical engineering (CBET) is a plus Attractive package with ESOPs and performance incentives
