Position Summary:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior 3D Character Designer with a minimum of 7-8 years of professional experience, particularly in creating both realistic and cartoon-style characters. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in character design, a strong artistic vision, and the ability to bring characters to life through imaginative and playful designs. You will collaborate with a creative team to develop characters that align with our unique storytelling approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, model, and texture high-quality 3D characters, with a focus on both cartoon and realistic styles for various projects, including animations, marketing content, and interactive media.
- Collaborate closely with writers, directors, and other creative team members to conceptualize and develop characters that enhance storytelling and engage audiences.
- Create character designs from initial sketches to production-ready 3D models, ensuring they are optimized for animation and meet artistic standards.
- Conduct research on character design trends and styles, integrating innovative techniques to keep our character assets fresh and relevant.
- Ensure all character designs are aligned with project goals, timelines, and quality standards, while being open to feedback and iterative improvements.
- Mentor junior artists in character design techniques, providing guidance and fostering a collaborative learning environment.
- Participate in team reviews and presentations, articulating design decisions and incorporating feedback to refine character concepts.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 7-8 years of professional experience as a 3D Character Designer, with a strong emphasis on creating cartoon characters in addition to realistic designs.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Maya, ZBrush, Blender, Substance Painter, and Photoshop. Familiarity with game engines like Unreal Engine or Unity is a plus.
- Artistic Skills: Strong understanding of character aesthetics, anatomy, and movement, with the ability to create a diverse range of character styles, particularly for animation.
- Portfolio: A compelling portfolio showcasing a variety of 3D character designs, highlighting both cartoon and realistic styles, as well as animation readiness.
- Creative Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills with a creative mindset, capable of adapting to project requirements and providing innovative solutions.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and clear articulation of design concepts.
Qualifications
- Cartoons, Character Designs, and Concept Art skills
- Experience in creating animations for video games
