Head Waiter

The Head Waiter oversees the overall dining experience in the restaurant, ensuring excellent customer service, smooth table operations, and effective coordination between kitchen and service staff. They lead the waiter team, train new staff, and handle guest-related issues to maintain the restaurant’s high standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Guest Experience:

• Greet and welcome guests in a warm and professional manner.

• Ensure guests are seated promptly and provided menus.

• Address guest complaints and concerns courteously, escalating to the manager when necessary.

2. Team Leadership:

• Assign tables and duties to servers, ensuring even distribution of workload.

• Supervise the service team to maintain consistency in quality and efficiency.

• Train and mentor new servers and ensure all staff adhere to service protocols.

3. Service Operations:

• Monitor table turnover and ensure efficient use of seating areas.

• Oversee the timely delivery of food and beverages.

• Ensure tables are clean, properly set, and adequately stocked.

4. Coordination:

• Act as a liaison between the kitchen and service team to ensure smooth communication.

• Assist servers with complex orders, large parties, or high-demand situations.

5. Standards & Compliance:

• Ensure adherence to health, hygiene, and safety standards.

• Enforce restaurant policies, dress codes, and grooming standards for the team.

6. Administrative Duties:

• Assist the restaurant manager in planning shifts and staff schedules.

• Maintain accurate records of service activities and customer feedback.

Requirements:

• Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.

• Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

• Knowledge: Familiarity with table settings, restaurant POS systems, and food safety standards.

• Personality: Polite, proactive, and customer-focused with attention to detail.

Work Conditions:

• Must be able to work during peak hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Ability to stand for long periods and manage a fast-paced environment.
