Job Title: Pro Vice-ChancellorLocation: PuneExperience Required: 15–20 YearsRole SummaryOur client is seeking a visionary academic leader to serve as Pro Vice-Chancellor , responsible for driving excellence across teaching, research, governance, and institutional development. The ideal candidate will bring deep familiarity with university norms , regulatory frameworks, and a proven track record in multidisciplinary academic leadership , preferably from state-owned private universities . Global experience with foreign universities is highly advantageous and will be a key differentiator in candidate evaluation.Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic LeadershipOversee curriculum innovation, OBE/CBCS implementation, and faculty development across Engineering, Design, Law, Management, and Liberal ArtsPromote research culture, publications, patents, and externally funded projectsLead quality initiatives including NAAC/NBA/NIRF/ABET readinessGovernance & ComplianceEnsure alignment with UGC, AICTE, BCI, PCI, and other statutory bodiesServe on Academic Council, Board of Management, and statutory committeesLead IQAC and institutional accreditation effortsStrategic DevelopmentDrive NEP 2020-aligned reforms and digital transformation in academics and administrationMobilize resources through grants, industry partnerships, and alumni engagementStrengthen branding, rankings, and external representationStudent Success & InclusionFoster a student-centric ecosystem focused on employability, life skills, and diversityOversee student welfare, progression, and career servicesAcademic Excellence and Global engagementDrive strategic partnerships and collaborations with foreign universities, enhancing global visibility, student exchange, and joint research initiativesChampion internationalization of curriculum, faculty engagement, and benchmarking against global best practices in higher educationCandidate Profile15–20 years of academic leadership , including experience as Professor and administratorStrong understanding of regulatory norms, accreditation frameworks , and university governancePrior experience in state-owned private universities preferredDemonstrated ability in institution-building, strategic planning , and stakeholder engagementDoctoral qualification requiredGlobal experience with foreign universities
