Job Title: Senior Director - Data Engineering

Job Overview:

eClerx is seeking an experienced Senior Director - Data Engineering to lead our data strategy, oversee complex data engineering initiatives, and drive impactful projects. This individual will bring a mix of technical expertise, strategic vision, and leadership abilities, ensuring high-performance data solutions that support our business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a diverse team of data engineers, fostering growth, and developing talent.
  • Design and implement robust, scalable data engineering solutions aligned with business needs.
  • Develop and maintain data architecture, ensuring effective data governance, security, and quality.
  • Oversee data pipelines, ETL processes, and real-time data processing frameworks for large-scale data handling.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure data solutions align with overall business objectives.
  • Manage vendor relationships and partnerships for data solutions, optimizing cost-effectiveness and performance.
  • Drive innovation within the team, ensuring adoption of best practices, emerging tools, and technologies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field from a Tier 1/2 engineering college.
  • Experience:
  • 20+ years of relevant experience in data engineering, data architecture, or similar roles.
  • Proven experience across both small and large organizations, showcasing adaptability to various business sizes and requirements.
  • Background in both end-user companies and vendors, ideally working within a diverse range of industries.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in data engineering technologies and frameworks (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, SQL, Python).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and data warehousing solutions.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance standards.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proven track record in designing scalable, secure data architectures.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing high-performance teams.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset.
